Asus n13 300mbps wifi pcie
Overall Review: I bought this as part of my first build, with the goal of replacing my finicky laptop as my main computer. Instead, I'm still using the laptop because I can't do much on the new desktop without the internet. I'll probably end up replacing it with a USB adapter; I haven't had any problems with those that I've used in the past.
Pros: Transferred more than 20GBytes of data without dropping connection. My AP is on a different floor of my house! In other words, this wireless NIC is awesome! Cons: When transferring files in a congested network environment, my 2,4GHz mouse becomes sluggish. Not sure if the issue is caused by interference, the driver or with Windows 7. This wireless NIC has no issue in the exact same setup.
Both NICs have Ralink chipsets. Overall Review: Don't make the same mistake I did! Can't blame the card - it worked as advertised. It boosted my signal strength a bit over the old USB adapter I had been using.
After installing the router - I noticed it could only connect to the 2. I get about 7 Mbps. I can't really justify sending it back to newegg - it was my error. I think all dropped connections i get now are due to that stupid mac airport router my roomate uses. Pros: PCIe 1x card with dual adjustable antennas. Small footprint.
Solid connection. No loss of power issues like with my previous USB adapter. Cons: ASUS utility software. It is cluttered and utterly worthless. Every customization option in the software is available in your Device Manager. If you just want the card without bad software then just install the drivers. The latest drivers on ASUS' website are dated However, this device uses the Ralink RT chipset. Sold by: Newegg Shipped by Newegg.
